This weekend I took a break from the everyday hardship of grinding to see family in Dallas, Tx. This was my first time enjoying all of a Metropolis level city. There were so many people that I felt like a number. In Alabama life is much more personal and intimate. Dallas has this huge feel to it as if there is no concern for the individual. Everyone felt like a part of the ordinary cycle of life.

This was a great feeling because where there is a lot of people doing 1 thing there's plenty of opportunity to stand out and provide something new. I didn't see many black people my age or anyone I'd assume would be the demographic for my music. The few young black guys I did see, were in tank tops with dreads. The important thing to note is this was the minority. Back home this is what you see all day everyday. Most of the women were Hispanic or Asian and seemed to not be expecting attention. The older people in the areas I went seemed to be solid, not many frail looking elderly. What this tells me about Dallas' metro is that this is a young, youthful and thriving city. However, there is too many people in this city. I was told there were 2million people downtown alone. This kind of population is one that will swallow an artist.

However it seems the perfect place to visit to network. Dallas feels like a direct level up from Birmingham. Theres enough to do for a lifetime here. I hated traveling from one place to another. Dallas is 100% Interstate. Getting from place to place is difficult which gives me a certain sense of safety. I cannot wait to come back to this place with friends as an updated version of myself.
